anything else blocked? - 2008/11/10 19:46 I'm using Linux to connect, the authentication works fine. I can ping the remote PPP
endpoint fine. I'm not using PPP for a default route, but instead I add a very specific
route to an outside machine, e.g. I'll say

route add -host 70.110.140.55 gw 164.110.5.5

..where 70.110.140.55 is the machine I want to get to, and 164.110.5.5 is the
remote PPP endpoint. That endpoint already has a route to it setup by PPP
(device ppp0), and as I mentioned, can be pinged. But getting past it doesn't
seem to work. I tried ftp and ssh.

Are there any other tricks -- any other ports besides nntp & smtp that are blocked?
Any special routes that should be added beyond the remote PPP endpoint?

I realize that vast majority of people would be using port 80 -- are there any rules
against port 443, or encryption in general?

Thanks!
